About Lucia
While Lucia’s success story may be somewhat common when many before her have found success emigrating to America, there is nothing common about this very special woman. Lucia Sotis grew up in Vila Franca do Campo, a small fishing village on the beautiful island of Sao Miguel, Azores. Her father, Antonio Oliviera, has earned his living as a free-diving fisherman and her Mother, Lucia Caetano, governed the busy household of seven children (Lucia, the oldest).
When she was 17, Lucia reluctantly came to the USA where her first job was peeling potatoes in a cold basement. She soon found a job in a Dunkin Donuts, learned to speak English, and within a couple of years, Lucia went to work for a major supermarket chain. Lucia arrived legally, worked hard from the day she arrived, learned to speak English, did all the paperwork, studied the books, and passed the test to earn her citizenship. Lucia was immensely proud to become a United States citizen and was sworn in at the historic Fanueil Hall in Boston, MA in 1995.
Having won many awards for having the best bake shop in her district and achieving all she set out to do, Lucia decided she wanted to have her own business and started I Love Lucia’s October 12, 2012. For the next 12 months Lucia continued full time at the market while she built the cleaning service.
By the fall of 2013 Lucia gave her notice at the market and made the jump to running I Love Lucia’s full time. Naming her business I Love Lucias was so appropriate because it’s true… everyone loves Lucia. Her clients know from the first minute they meet that Lucia has kept her traditional old-world values of integrity, self-respect, and taking pride in her work.
With thirteen years of professional cleaning experience, Lucia is making a fresh start in Florida and looks forward to cleaning for her new clients.
